Course Syllabus (Virtual Course)

Course Objectives

The purpose of this program is to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to drive your vehicle safely.
You will find the program to be comprehensive and engaging. A lot of time, and effort has been spent to provide participants with multiple levels of interaction.
This includes, the presentation of knowledge, view of videos, and interactive activities, as well as responding, and interacting to various simulations and scenarios.

Course Structure

The course is divided into three steps:

STEP 1 – Complete 20 hours online with the instructor. This will be completed in 4 days as scheduled by the driving school.

STEP 2 – Complete 10 hours digital instructions at your own pace.

STEP 3 – Complete a minimum of 10 hours in-vehicle driving instructions with the instructor.

Note: You must complete all three steps within 365 days from the start date.

Course Assessment / Final Grade Breakdown

The course will have assessments that are conducted in a variety of formats including quizzes, activities and tests. Course assessments will be graded automatically, tracked and retained.

There is a 70% grade requirement for the final exam. You will have three attempts to pass your final exam.

The breakdown of the 30 hours of online beginner driver education course:
20 hours course: 75%
10 hours course: 25%

Course Certification

Below are the steps for course certification:
1. Complete 20-hours beginner driver education course and 10-hours course with passing mark of 70% or higher.
2. Complete a minimum of 10 hours in-vehicle driving lessons.
3. The driving school will submit your online course result and in-vehicle result electronically to the Ministry of Transportation.
4. The driving school will notify you once the certification process has been completed.
5. Visit your local Service Ontario office to purchase your Driver’s Licence History Search.

We use this information to administer your account, to enable your access to the website, verify your identity as an authorized user concerning any accounts, and to implement, carry out and maintain security measures aimed at protecting our students from identity theft, fraud and unauthorized access to an account.
The personal information you provide to us will be held on our servers. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely.
